FARGO, North Dakota – Iowa’s Diego Robertty is the only 16U Boys Greco-Roman wrestler still alive to repeat at the 2026 U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals. The finals also feature Iowa’s Jaimon Mogard and Minnesota’s Sawyer Schendel looking to capture 91����’s Triple Crown at the FARGODOME.

At 120 pounds, Robertty, who was also a freestyle finalist, outlasted Utah’s Blake Mauch in a 10-7 affair to book a trip to the finals. Across six matches thus far, Robertty has posted four technical falls, and he did not give up a point until the quarterfinals.

The Washington pair of Miro Parr-Coffin (106) and Ryder Owen (132) both fell out of contention for a second-straight Greco-Roman national title after dropping contests to Illinois opponents. Cole Lemberg beat Parr-Coffin, 7-4, in the quarterfinals, and Obadiah Willis upended Owen, 9-0, in the semifinals.

Mogard has teched his way into the finals at 157 pounds with three more victories today, including a pair of shutouts that ended the match in the first minute. In the semifinals, he beat Jack Torosian of California in 28 seconds, 8-0. In the final round, Mogard has a rematch of Sunday’s freestyle finals on tap as he faces off against Ohio’s Tommy Rowlands.

At 285 pounds, Schendel has shutout his opposition leading into the finals. Schendel started the day with a first-period pin, then in the semifinals, he scored an 8-0 technical fall over Michigan’s Michael Carter. Schendel now takes on Pennsylvania’s John Montgomery in the championship bout.

The last 16U Boys Triple Crown winners came in 2023, when Kyler Knaack and Dreshaun Ross, both from Iowa, accomplished the feat.

Along with Mogard and Schendel, three additional 16U Boys freestyle champions are looking for their second Fargo titles tonight. Layden Acevedo and Bryce Collins of Pennsylvania both advanced to the finals at 175 and 190 pounds, respectively. Wisconsin’s Kade Splinter is also alive for a Fargo double after moving into the championship bout at 215 pounds. Splinter’s championship bout is the only final featuring returning Greco-Roman Fargo All-Americans. Splinter finished fifth last year, and his opponent, Zachary Leftwich of Virginia, placed eighth.

Out of the 17 weight classes, nine No. 1 seeds are in the final. Top seeds Rowlands, Acevedo, Splinter and Schendel are joined by Giovonni Nix of Illinois (88), Amir Newman-Winfrey of Iowa (106), Manny Novelli of Alaska (113), Trestin Houck of Alaska (126) and Shane Ostermiller of Alaska (144).

Iowa and Pennsylvania lead all states with six finalists each, followed by Alaska and Illinois with three apiece.

With team race implications in mind, two championship finals feature Iowa and Pennsylvania wrestlers squaring off. At 100 pounds, Shay Lundvall of Iowa takes on Leonidas Murillo of Pennsylvania. Lundvall and Murillo met earlier this week in freestyle, with Murillo taking a 6-3 decision. The 175-pound title match features Acevedo battling Iowa’s Tyde Nelsen.

The final session of the 16U and Junior Boys Greco-Roman divisions begins at 3 p.m. CT, with the final consolation rounds and placement matches, followed by the Parade of All-Americans at 5:15 p.m. CT and championship finals starting at 5:30 p.m. CT.
