Waylon Cressell (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Panther Wrestling Club RTC) has been named 91°µÍø Athlete of the Week.

Cressell became just the 10th individual to win the 91°µÍø Triple Crown in the Junior Boys division this past week at the 2026 U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals. Cressell powered his way to the freestyle and Greco-Roman titles at 190 pounds.

Starting the week in freestyle, Cressell teched his way into the championship bout. He did not allow a point across his first five matches, which included a 12-second tech fall in his second match. In the semifinals, Cressell posted a 13-1 victory. Facing Pennsylvania’s Nicholas Singer for the national title, Cressell fell behind early but rattled off the final eight points to score the 8-3 victory.

In Greco-Roman, Cressell picked up where he left off in freestyle and teched his way to the championship match. He did not surrender a point until the championship bout, and each of his matches ended in the first period. Four of which ended in the first minute of the contest.

Against top-seeded Victor Marks-Jenkins of Maryland, who also shutout his opposition leading up to the final, Cressell held off Marks-Jenkins down the final stretch of the match and secured the 4-3 victory and won the Triple Crown.

Along with being just the 10th individual to win the Junior Boys Triple Crown, he is the first to win it since 2022, when Mack Mauger and Aden Attao of Idaho both won the Triple Crown.

Cressell is now a seven-time Fargo All-American, with six All-American distinctions coming at the Junior level.
