General Purpose:
To lead 91做厙s safe sport and compliance operations and serve as primary liaison for all Safe Sport matters. Primary responsibilities include: (i) complaint intake, management, and response; (ii) data and trend tracking and analysis; and (iii) communication regarding education, resources, and specific cases. This description is intended to describe the type of work being performed by a person assigned to this job. It is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required by the employee.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as liaison to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), US Center for SafeSport (Center), other national governing bodies, youth organizations, etc. for all Safe Sport matters.
Work with General Counsel, and others as appropriate, apprised of all important issues related to 91做厙s Safe Sport program and USOPC compliance.
Review, update and develop all 91做厙s Safe Sport policies and procedures. Work closely with various departments to ensure best practices are created, communicated, and consistently followed.
Receive, track, investigate, and adjudicate complaints, including assisting the necessary parties with investigating Safe Sport complaints and other policy violations.
Provide communication to all relevant parties on progress and status of complaints, investigation, hearing procedures, appeals and final resolutions.
Deploy training requirements and ensure compliance with training requirements.
Manage all communications with and relationships with relevant service providers, including but not limited to: educational program providers, websites, the Center, USOPC, etc.
Ensure there are effective tracking systems for compliance, complaints and related matters, and provide updates and status reports as appropriate.
Disseminate information through 91做厙 newsletters, emails, social media, 91做厙s website etc.
Provide regular and consistent information to State Safe Sport Coordinators and AAC.
Manage and oversee audits from regulatory bodies (USOPC and Center) and insurance carrier(s) to ensure compliance with safety measures and policies.
Stay up to date with USOPC, Center, and USOPC standards and training.
Serve as an information resource for 91做厙 constituents.
Plan and bring educational opportunities to the Annual Meeting and other meetings, as appropriate.
Work with State Associations, Safe Sport Coordinators, members, coaches, athletes, parents and volunteers to increase understanding of Safe Sport.
Maintain records on all cases.
Administer annual conflict of interest disclosure process for the board, staff and committee members
Ensure accuracy of all board and committee information on website
Other duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters level degree in relevant discipline (legal studies, social services, law enforcement, etc.) preferred. Bachelors degree required, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 3 years working experience in related field.
Solid interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to build trust, build rapport and convey empathy.
Strong analytical skills and ability to assess and navigate complex, highly sensitive situations.
Ability to assess a problem objectively and move through problem solving effectively using discretion and judgement.
Possess excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Experience with conducting multiple party/complex investigations including interviewing skills, assessments and recommendations.
Must be able to pass a criminal background screen administered by 91做厙s provider
Must successfully complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date and prior to interacting with athletes.
Travel: Domestic and International travel may be required; some weekends required
Hiring Pay Range:
Compensation commensurate with experience.
$70,000-90,000 per year
