A 14-person U.S. side is heading to Baku, Azerbaijan, to compete across two events. Team USA will have 10 individuals competing at the 2026 U17 Beach World Championships on August 27. Four Senior division wrestlers are set to take part in the 2026 Baku Beach World Series on August 28-29. Both events take place at the Sea Breeze Resort in Baku.

Headlining the Baku Beach World Series for Team USA is 12-time Beach World Series medalist and three-time Beach World champion Eliana Bommarito. Bommarito has captured gold in her first two Beach World Series events this season. Most recently, at the Batumi Beach World Series, she went 3-0 in her round-robin pool, with each being 3-0 victories en route to gold.

Joining Bommarito in the women’s division in Baku is 2024 U17 Beach World bronze medalist Sadie Evans. Evans comes into the tournament following a fifth-place finish at the Porec Beach World Series.

Representing the U.S. on the men’s side at the Beach World Series event are Bryan Coll at 70 kg and Jacob Bumgardner at 90 kg. Coll makes his 2026 debut on the World circuit after three appearances last year, along with an appearance at the Pan American Championships. Bumgardner returns to Beach Worlds Series events after placing ninth at the 2025 Katerini Beach World Series.

At the U17 Beach World Championships, Ilyana Martinez and Cheyanne Wolfard-Henry return after representing the U.S. at last year’s event in Katerini, Greece. Wolfard-Henry won the U17 title at the 2026 Carolina Beach Nationals at 75 kg and Martinez finished second at 65 kg.

2026 U17 Pan American champion Matilda Hruby returns to the beach wrestling ring in Baku after capturing gold at the continental championship earlier this year. She is set to join Wolfard-Henry at 75 kg.

Rounding out the women’s U17 roster are Piper Fry at 45 kg, Jessica Strassburg and Aro Ogle-Garza at 55 kg. Fry captured gold at the Carolina Beach Nationals in May in both the U15 and U17 divisions.

The U17 men’s beach wrestling squad includes Kash Mireles at 60 kg, with Jonah Perdue, Korbin Korhonen and Bruno Ahern set to compete at 80 kg. Perdue heads into the U17 World Championships after a first-place finish at the Carolina Beach Nationals, where he edged Korhonen for gold, 3-2. Mireles battled through the consolation bracket at the national tournament to finish third overall at 60 kg.
