Emma Bruntil (Vernon, Ill./Titan Mercury WC) has been named 91�� Athlete of the Week.

Bruntil made her return to the international stage this weekend with a gold medal at the Klippan Lady Open in Sweden.

In the 65 kg division, the 2023 World Team member posted a pair of technical falls in her opening matches against age-group World medalist Natalia Kubaty of Poland (13-2) and Sweden’s Tilda Jivenius (11-0).

In the gold medal bout, Bruntil – who competed on two U23 World Teams – won a 4-3 contest against Sweden’s Agnes Nygren. Nygren finished seventh at the 2025 U23 World Championships.

This is Bruntil’s fifth career international senior-level gold medal.

Bruntil is slated to be back on the mat at the Muhamet Malo Ranking Series in Tirana, Albania, from February 25-March 1. This will be United World Wrestling’s second Ranking Series event of the 2026 season.
