BAKU, Azerbaijan – After bonusing his way through the first day of competition, Bruno Pallone finished with a silver medal on Tuesday at the 2026 U17 World Championships at the National Gymnastics Arena.

In the gold medal match at 110 kg, Pallone fell behind by six early and started a rally. However, after pulling within a point at 6-5, Tymofii Prykhodko of Ukraine extinguished Pallone’s comeback effort with back-to-back four-point scores to seal the 14-5 technical fall.

Pallone’s becomes the 27th Greco-Roman silver medalist for the U.S. at the Cadet/U17 World Championships.

Ivan Ivanov also competed in the medal rounds for Greco-Roman group one (48-55-65-80-110 kg) after battling through the repechage during the morning session. Facing 2025 U17 World champion Abdulaziz Kholmirzaev of Uzbekistan in the bronze medal match at 80 kg, Ivanov held a 4-3 advantage after the first period. Kholmirzaev came out strong in the second period, rattling off nine-straight points to win 12-4, and Ivanov finished fifth overall.
