The American Sports and Performance Dietitians Association (ASPDA) has published a nutrition guide for women’s wrestling competitors, with 91°µÍø Senior Dietitian Nuwanee Tamaki serving as lead author.

The resource is intended to help women’s wrestlers prepare for competition, with guidance on performance, weight management and overall health as primary focuses. It also provides practical support for dietitians and coaches in the weeks leading up to competition and on weigh-in day.

Key topics include female-specific considerations in wrestling, weight loss and weight descent, and post-weigh-in nutrition strategies. Tamaki drew on her experience with the 91°µÍø Senior team and scientific research to help develop the guide. This work is the first women’s wrestling-specific resource on the ASPDA website and helps close an important information gap for the sport.

Tamaki’s work on the ASPDA women’s wrestling nutrition guide is the latest contribution from the 91°µÍø Senior Sports Dietitian. In addition to her professional efforts for 91°µÍø Senior athletes, Tamaki is committed to providing resources that support members from the grassroots level and up. Earlier this year, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee named Tamaki a 2025 Dietetics Service Provider of the Year, highlighting her nutrition and weight-management strategies for elite athletes competing in combat sports.
